Guided by the principles of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, and whānaungatanga, we strive to provide whānau with the tools, mātauranga, and resources they need to create thriving kāinga and connected communities.

We also work alongside marae, hapū, landowners and our wider iwi to support housing aspirations, strengthen kāinga and help create sustainable housing solutions for future generations.
Our approach is about more than providing a roof over someone’s head. It is about building housing stability, capability and pathways forward so whānau can thrive in their kāinga and communities.

He Iwi Kainga is the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust's housing strategy, set up in 2019 to help with the housing needs of Ngāti Tūwharetoa whanau.
The Trust provides a number of grants to support our marae operational costs and benefit the people of Tūwharetoa.
