Tainui celebrated the 160th year of the Kingitanga. Celebrations ended at Pukawa Marae in November with karakia at the site of the 1856 Hui of Chiefs, where Potatau Te Wherowhero was chosen to be the first Māori King.

All members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust (TST).

On Saturday 27 October 2018, the Trust celebrated its kaumātua at the 2018 Tūwharetoa Kaumātua Dinner, held at the Bayview Wairakei Resort in Taupō.
